About Amanda

Amanda Rawn-Alton is a Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of Affirm & Flourish. She specializes in supporting children, teens, parents, and families with a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed approach.

Amanda knows that parenting a neurodivergent child often comes with mixed emotions — love and pride, alongside uncertainty, stress, and worry about the future. Families are too often met with messages about what’s “wrong” rather than recognition of what’s right. Amanda’s work is about creating space where children and parents feel seen, respected, and supported for who they are.

Her practice focuses on helping families strengthen connection, build practical strategies, and find hope. She works with children and adolescents who crave acceptance and growth on their own terms, and with parents who want to feel confident and supported in raising happy, well-adjusted kids.

Amanda brings experience working with neurodivergent children, including those with Autism, ADHD, FASD, and other developmental differences. She also works with parents navigating assessments, school transitions, or existing services, offering an alternative perspective rooted in compassion and respect.

At the core of Amanda’s work is a belief that every child and family deserves to feel accepted and understood. She helps create the safety and connection that allow children to thrive, while supporting parents in feeling confident and empowered. Her goal is to help families honour who they are and flourish together.
